EASA OPT and the possibility to fly legally up to 600 kg MTOM keeps all the manufacturers busy these days. Also, Ellipse Spirit will shortly become one of those planes lawfully flying at the 600 kg MTOM weight.
We had all the necessary tests already done but we just wanted to play things safe, and therefore we repeated the fuselage tests. At the same time, we tested the engine bed for the new and more massive engines (like ROTAX 915 iS). I
It was remarkable to see that the Ellipse passed all the load with flying colours. Carbon is mighty, the quality of work is pretty amazing. Just check the pictures.
